Diagnosis: extraosseous/peripheral ameloblastoma

10% of all amelob;astomas, occur in wide age range 9-92

Molecular changes: similar to central ameloblastomas, MAPK signaling pathway mutation is common, with BRAFp.V600E being the most common mutation.

Ddx: intraoral basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.

Clinical: more indolent than conventional/central ameloblastoma, recurrence rate 9-20%
